Curricular Reform through Backward Design

I can work with your group to help you reform chemistry and biochemistry curriculum using a systems-thinking and backward design methodology. Reform can happen at the section, course, departmental, or even institutional level but in all cases we will work collaboratively to articulate your intended outcomes, identify what student evidence would indicate success in these outcomes, and develop the teaching plan to scaffold students towards success.

Assessment Programs

My expertise in assessment can be helpful at the course, program, or institutional level. I have held various workshops on designing measurable learning outcomes, mapping outcomes onto courses and assignments, ensuring effective scaffolding, and closing the loop by creating interpretable and meaningful data reports.

External Evaluation

I have served as an external evaluator at institutions of varying types and sizes. I am generally brought in to help facilitate conversations around curriculum, assessment, DEI efforts, and introductory experiences.
