This is my short story.

I grew up in Pierre, South Dakota where my family spent summer weekends on the Missouri river and winter weekends skiing in the Black Hills. In high school I fell hard for the field of chemistry and followed that love through my undergraduate, masters, and graduate work where I ultimately found my true calling in researching how people learn chemistry and what we can do to make it a better experience for everyone. After graduate school I adjuncted for a year at Northern Virginia Community College before landing my current position at St. Mary’s College of Maryland located in southern Maryland where my husband and I have built a family. I enjoy chasing after my two kids during my “free time” and running when I can.

And now for the classic academic overshare….
